    Hedtorch runs marathon group.

    Now in its sixth year, the 6th 1st Annual Headtorch Marathon takes place on the 28th December from Mickleham Village Hall.

    A social Marathon, with a difference. This guided event is the ideal way to work off some of those Christmas calories we all tend to pile on over the festive period.

    We’re going back to basics this year, with our tried & tested formula.

    What you get.

    A guided run over the fabulous Surrey Hills & North Downs an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. After our 50km run for the 5th 1st, we’re back with our “standard” Marathon distance of 27miles. A mulled wine & mince pie checkpoint at halfway & then once we’re back in from the run we can have our post run party with plenty of mulled wine & mince pies.

    Although the run will take roughly 7.5hrs to get round, please ensure you are able to run a Marathon in 5hrs or less to enable this to happen. The guides will keep the group moving at a 5hour marathon pace (10-11minute miles) but allowing for stiles & grouping this takes it to 7.5hrs

    Please bring along a few nibbles & drinks to share with the others in the event.

    Entry is the same as previous years. Please read below.

    Entry fee is £35. Each entrant will sign up via our registration process & if they don’t enjoy the run, they can ask for a refund by Bong-ing the Gong. No refunds are offered unless requested on the night.

    **** If you don’t turn up for the event, your entry fee, after costs will go directly to our charity Justgiving page & you will receive nothing back.****

    You will be given the opportunity on the night to donate your entry fee to the charity if you so wish.

    There will be no refunds or deferments to entrants who cannot make it, this is a charity night & we make it clear that we want to make as much money for KCH on the evening as we can.

    As before, the post race party should be a “Cracker”.

    Mandatory Kit

    • Headtorch or light source.
    • Mobile phone.
    • Silver foil blanket.
    • Waterproof jacket.
    • 1lt bladder or bottles capable of carrying 1lt of fluids.
    • Most importantly of all, a Canary. Those of you that have run our charity events know how important this is. No Canary, no run! Canary mementos from our previous events are *NOT* acceptable.
