The Raven Marathon & Ultra are new events taking place over the beautiful Surrey Hills.
The Yellow Raven on the 18th April is the first in a new four race series starting in 2020. The Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter Ravens will test your ability in all four of the seasons.
The Raven races include a Marathon & 35 mile Ultra marathon, with both taking place at night.
This race series will test you to the best of your abilities as they cover the same course over each of the four seasons. The Yellow Raven (Spring), taking place on the 18th April, the Red Raven (Summer) on the 27th June, the Gold Raven (Autumn) on the 26th September & the White Raven (Winter) on the 7th November. Finish all four Marathons or Ultras & get the soon to be coveted Black Raven Marathon Slam Medallion or the Black Raven Ultra-Marathon Medallion.
The races start at Mickleham Village Hall (Race HQ) incorporating three loops of 8.75miles for the Marathon & four loops of 8.75miles for the 35mile Ultra. The route will be marked on the night with signs & tape. The GPX file will be available to all entrants.
The Raven is run over a tough, testing course, with over 1,800ft of ascent per lap & just one checkpoint at the 8.75mile mark (Village Hall).
The Village Hall will be well stocked with the ‘usual’ ultramarathon nutrition.

Enter all four Raven Marathons or Ultras at the same time & get an automatic 15% discount. The discount is deducted on the payment page. Only applies to those entering all the races at the same time.
Due to permit regulations, all runners doing the Marathon must be aged 18yrs or older & runners doing the Ultra must be aged 20yrs or older on race day.
- Primary and secondary head torches or other light sources with sufficient spare battery.
- Mobile phone.
- Silver foil blanket.
- Waterproof jacket (Taped seams)
- 1/2lt bladder or bottles capable of carrying 1/2lt of fluids.
- Most importantly of all, a Canary. No Canary, no run! Canary mementos from our previous events are *NOT* acceptable.
Mandatory kit must be brought with you on the night but the only piece of kit you have to carry with you at all times is your Canary. We do reserve the right to enforce the full carrying of your kit if the weather turns bad.
We are a cupless event so please make sure you bring one if you want water, tea or coffee from the checkpoint.

Registration for the runners will be available at the village hall from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Please bring all mandatory kit when registering.
The race will start at 8pm.
